I have long known that often God will use what can seem a rejection, as a form of protection. When a door that seemed open or fruitful, closes unexpectedly, I have learned to treat the wound quickly, walk away peacefully, and leave the gates shut until such time as God chooses to open them again, or not. Look back on the positive from what a relationship, experience, job, or opportunity has brought, into your life and the lives of others, and then move into the new. God knows where He desires to produce fruit . We are but laborers in the King’s Vineyards.
Stressors are going to come.
Each of us have the choice how we will respond.
A gentle answer turns away wrath, a kind word breaks the bone of contention.
A calm demeanor in the face of pressure brings peace to the situation.
Saying no, in a mild, yet unmoving way, will express more clarity and strength than an an anxiety filled screech.
If you stand your ground on the things that really matter and let the rest go, there will be fewer moments of conflict and you will reduce your opportunities for clashes which increase pressure on everyone involved.
If those around you want to live at a pace that makes you uncomfortable, keep your own tempo and they will either walk on without you or slow down or speed up to stay in your company, the same is true if you want to walk with someone else who is ticking on a different timetable.
Adjustments are required in every relationship, discover which ones you can truly make, and be honest about those you cannot without comprising your core.
Be at peace with who God made you to be and make the most of all He gives.
Not everyone’s Christmas is merry or bright
Lively or cheerful, or even full of life
For some, it is sad, a reminder of things lost
The heart misses what once was
Or things which have never come
Into the world of sorrow and toil
Sadness and sighing
Came God down
To meet man’s suffering
To fill the empty holes
Gaping and wounded
Hearts broken, sad souls
It is in the broken places
That the gift most needful
Is unconditioned love
No need to pretend all is well
When it is not
False fronts mean nothing
When what’s best is truths touch
Poor children are we all
No matter what we posses
Without the gift of eternal life
All of this is for show and to fill the hole
That stays empty in our chest
If your heart is sad at any season
Best to be real and honest
Let people know you are bleeding
Accept the love given and the warmth as best you can receive it
There is hope, even in pain
That’s the reason for Jesus, the truth of why He came
To bring peace into our chaos
To show us how to navigate difficulty and loss
To be near us in the dark times
When you take time to make peace with the past
It can’t hurt you no more
If you take the skeletons out and bury them well
Those bones can’t rise up and haunt your head
Cause the past is gone, its over, done and dead
If you try to raise it
You kill the good of now
Strand yourself while the lifeboat passes
Too busy panning for fools’ gold
Wrestling too long with the past can
Keep your heart from being made new
Shut the doors God opens to you
If you can settle your scores with yourself
Forgive others faults and choose to go on
That leaves you to combat futures fears
They want to blow your mind
To keep you fretting about what you may or may not might find
Worrying about tomorrow when today is all you have
Robbing minutes from the hour
Takes the winks from your sleep
24 times 60
A thousand and a half ticks
Gone in a blink
Why waste them on what can’t be undone
Or the days ahead that may never come
Each day has trouble enough
Anyone who is alive knows that
Days may get easier or times may get bad
Today is here, the big and small hands
Spinning as you read
We need grace, and it is given
To make it through each pie piece on the clocks grid
Love who is near, remember those gone on
Take joy where you can, on this day, with the people
Who are in your life now, God knows what He’s doing
